Coastal Carolina Dental Forum was established with its first meeting in February of 2018. In its young life, the Coastal Carolina Dental Forum has already formed into an impressive group of Jacksonville (and surrounding area) dentists who enjoy collaborating, open discussion of treatment topics, and learning from leading experts in dentistry and supporting industries.
We are affiliated with the Seattle Study Club® network, a leader in the field of dental continuing education. There are more than 250 Seattle Study Clubs worldwide, with over 6,700 members to date. As part of the program, members are granted access to rich content in a variety of educational resources, connections to local clinicians, and networking opportunities with members around the world.
The Seattle Study Club organization is recognized as one of the most advanced continuing education groups for dental professionals in the world. As a member you will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on demonstrations, problem-solving workshops, panel discussions and clinical treatment planning sessions.

Dr. Arauz received his first dental degree (Doctor in Dental Surgery, D.D.S.) from the University of Panama in Panama City, Panama in 1997 and then his second dental degree (Doctor in Dental Medicine, D.M.D.) from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 2004. He completed his specialty degree in Periodontology at the University of Rochester’s world-renowned Eastman Dental Center in New York in 2002, and completed a two-year residency in advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) and general practice residency (GPR) as well. While at Case Western Reserve University, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics and he taught to residents and dental students for five years. He was also Clinic Director of the residency in Periodontics, and directed courses in Implantology,Sedation, and Surgical Periodontics. Additionally, Dr. Arauz was a staff periodontist and consultant in periodontology and dental implants at the Department of Dentistry of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, and practiced periodontics and dental implantology in private offices located in Westlake, Lyndhurst and Mentor, Ohio. Dr. Arauz has been in practice in this area since December 2007. Moving to the beautiful Eastern Carolina area has been a “dream come true” for him and his family. Dr. Arauz is a Board Certified periodontist, Diplomate of The American Board of Periodontology, and an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration and the American Board of Periodontology. The dental practice of Dr. Jose Arauz is limited to Periodontics, Implants, and Oral Medicine
Kayla became the Study Club Coordinator in June of 2021 and carried out the pre-planned Academic Year of Compleat Curriculum II. She was born in Johnston County where she graduated from a private school in Goldsboro, North Carolina before moving to Greenville, North Carolina to attend East Carolina University. Kayla graduated in May 2016 with a B.S. degree in Communications focused on Public Relations. She has been an asset to our team and a quick learner from becoming the Study Club Coordinator a couple of months before the Academic Year of 2021-2022. She enjoys planning the study club sessions and getting to know our members so that she can host the very best CE Meetings seemlessly.
